Kees (17) is taking her first steps towards adulthood and has decided to take a language course in Marseille. She is impulsive and eager for adventure. But actually, the biggest reason for going so far from home is her mother. Their relationship is suffocating her; she wants to escape and make her own choices. But she still needs her mother, Lois, to take her to the south of France.
