Precariously walking a tightrope of varying genres and tones, 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮 provokes salient questions about sexual freedom and its relationship to faith. 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮 is directed by Shortcutz’ first Rutger Hauer Award recipient Paul Verhoeven. Prior to the feature 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀, a short visual experiment directed by Maarten Groen, will be screened.

𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 (or Druk in Danish) – directed by Thomas Vinterberg and co-produced by Frans van Gestel, co-founder of Topkapi film and former Shortcutz’ special guest – shines a special take on drinking. Take one part deftly directed tragicomedy, add a dash of Mads Mikkelsen in vintage form, and you’ve got 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 – an intoxicating look at midlife crises. The olive in your Martini comes in the form of 𝗜’𝗗 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞… a short by Jonathan J. Smit.
