We would like to inform you about the procedures for the 9th Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards on May 1st at EYE, cinema 1.

RSVP and Plus-one

Please RSVP before April 20th in the below form.
This invitation is only valid for the person nominated + 1.
Every year we struggle with the Annual Awards tickets. We have sold out all the editions so far, some of them in just a few days. If you are interested in more tickets, the tickets will be available from April 13th at www.eyefilm.nl.

FAQs:

  • If several persons got nominated for the same award, the same rules apply. For example, if it’s a director’s duo, it’s 4 tickets total. The same applies to the acting categories, for example.

Registration

Upon your arrival at Eye (between 19:00 and 19:30), please register at the desk in front of the reception.
Please let us know if a nominee can’t attend the ceremony as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we can't have video messages, so we kindly ask you to assign a representative to receive the award in your name if you win.

Speech

Winners will be called on stage to give a brief speech. This may not be longer than a minute. Otherwise, the ceremony will last forever :)

The Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards recognise the best Dutch talent in short films. In this ceremony, we will award:

Categories decided by the Shortcutz Amsterdam Jury Team:

  • Mr Zee Best Film

  • Mr Zee Best Director

  • Mr Zee Best Acting

  • Mr Zee Best Screenplay

  • Mr Zee Best Cinematography

  • Mr Zee Best Editing

  • Mr Zee Best Documentary

  • Mr Zee Best Animation

  • Mr Zee Best Experimental Film

Other Awards:

  • Mr Zee International Audience Award, decided by the Audience

  • 3rd Rutger Hauer Award

The Best Film is awarded €15,000 worth of services by Filmmore and Cam-a-lot, €7,500 each. Cam-a-lot also awards the winner of Mr Zee Best Cinematography with equipment rental worth €2.500.

This year, film director MARTIN KOOLHOVEN will receive the RUTGER HAUER AWARD.

We will screen the winners of Best Film and Audience Award during the ceremony.

This year we can count on some inspiring words from #proud.

  • Actress HANNA VAN VLIET (ANNE+, Quicksand, Lost Transport),

  • CHRISTOPHER MACK, Director Creative Talent Investment & Development Netflix International Originals EMEA

  • Film Journalist RENÉ MIOCH will co-host this event.
