About the 11th Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards

Registration: 7 PM – 7:30 PM

After another wonderful season of Weekly Sessionz, we're gearing up for the 11th Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards. Join us as we celebrate the talents behind the best Dutch short films, vying for eleven Mr Zee awards. In memory of our late ambassador, Rutger Hauer, we'll also be presenting the Rutger Hauer Award to someone who has made a meaningful impact on the next generation of Dutch filmmakers.
Our ceremony is more about inspiration than the competition, and this year, we're honoured to have some special guests sharing their insights with us. As always, everyone walks away with a bit of inspiration!
Stay tuned for announcements about the guests who will be joining us this evening. In the past, we've been fortunate to host figures like Rutger Hauer, Béla Tarr, Anton Corbijn, Peter Greenaway, Heddy Honigmann, and Jan Harlan. Looking forward to sharing this special night with you!

Please let us know as soon as possible if a nominee can’t attend the ceremony. Unfortunately, we can't have video messages, so we kindly ask you to assign a representative to receive the award in your name, so in case you win, there will be someone to receive your award.
This invitation is only valid for the person nominated + 1.
Every year, we struggle with the Annual Awards tickets. We have sold out all the editions so far, some of them in just a few days. If you are interested in more tickets, the tickets will be available from January 9th at www.eyefilm.nl.
Registration
Upon your arrival at Eye (between 19:00 and 19:30), please register at the desk in front of the reception.
Speech
Winners will be called on stage to give a brief speech. This may not be longer than a minute. Otherwise, the ceremony will last forever :)

JURY TEAM
This year's Jury Team is composed of producer Jan Harlan ('The Shining'), Christopher Mack from Netflix International Originals, actress Elise Schaap ('Ferry'), director Roel Reiné ('Marvel’s Inhumans'), actress Willeke van Ammelrooy ('Antonia’s Line'), director Eddy Terstall ('Simon'), Head of Drama NTR Marina Blok, former Eye's senior programmer and head of acquisitions René Wolf, actress Nora El Koussour ('Layla M'), and street artist Laser 3.14. PRIZES
Mr Zee Best Film: is awarded €15,000 worth of services by FILMMORE and CAM-A-LOT, €7,500 each.
Mr Zee Best Director: is awarded €5,000 (cash prize) by VEVAM.
Mr Zee Best Screenplay: is awarded €2,000 (cash prize) by NETFLIX.
Mr Zee Best Cinematography: is awarded equipment rental worth € 2,500 by CAM-A-LOT.
Mr Zee Best Soundtrack: is awarded €2,000 (cash prize) by MiMM/Private Kitchen.
We will screen the winners of Mr Zee Best Film and Audience Award during the ceremony.

We have several persons nominated in the same category. How many tickets do we have?
The same rules apply if several persons get nominated for the same award. For example, if it’s a director’s duo, it’s 4 tickets total.I didn’t receive a confirmation email after filling out the form. Is everything ok?
If you receive a message on the webpage saying the information was entered successfully, it means we received all the info correctly. You will not receive an automated email as confirmation. We will review all the entries one by one, and if something is not ok, we will contact you.
On January 19th, we will email you the final details for the event.
